2nd Team

Hi all, just wanted to explain the decision for me to take over the 2nd team in writing.

Firstly, I have not actually taken over the team permanently, just looking after the team until Xmas as Nic has a lot of work commitments until then and we don't want the team to suffer. Last couple of training sessions have been poor due to Nic not being there and that has affected the attitudes of some and I feel that the morale, which had been very good despite the defeatsm,, has taken a bit of a nosedive.

Also, I think it's not the worst idea for me take over for a couple of games regardless of Nic's position as it never hurts to get second opinion on things. At the end of the day the 2nd team are under-achieving regardless of what anyone says, i.e we are a new team and therefore expect to lose. That's rubbish, the quality in the second team should be good enough for mid-table at least (about 6/7 squad members from our promotion squad last year and 3/4 good new players for example)and on your day I wouldn't bet against you beating the better teams in the league also. I want to have a closer look as to why you are losing every game, especially lately as things seem to have got worse rather than better.

I want to see how much the players are giving i.e are there any bad attitude problems costing the team dearly, are there good players on the bench or are we using the wrong formation for the players available. Do the faults lye with the back 4 or are the strikers not putting their chances away etc Or are the management just going about it in the wrong way and the players don't have a chance to begin with.

I have an idea on why we are not performing, let alone getting the results, but until I am able to have a closer look it's hard to take any action to sort this out.

Anyway, just to clarify, Nic is still your manager in the long-term, however, for our last 2 games and 2 training sessions before Xmas, I will be taking responsibility.

I have had a good chat with a few of you and I welcome your thoughts (either on here, by phone or in person) as I have not been there every game and therefore need your help in identifying the problems.
