As you say there are very many variables and if you are performing a study you will have to take the most significant variables into account.
In the subject line you put cost of arthroscopy...
If you want to know the cost of imaging the knee you could always ask a private provider their cost but this will include profits etc!
NHS actual costs are almost impossible to work out as much is costed on a contract basis for many examinations with a purchaser such as a primary care Trust.
