Are you the only AP or are there a group of you?
I think you need to try and establish yourselves as a group and part of the team, perhaps you have an superintendent or manager who introduced APs and is not aware of the situation? You need to bring this up at your IPR as soon as possible...
In our hospital the Aps play a valuable and well respected role and are considered part of the team in all aspects of the departments functions, it can nd does work, perhaps a CPD session or similar would be a good opetunity to "advertise" your role etc..
