Remember if you are using CR, you need the at least the minimum KV to pentrate the thickest structure - related to its atomic number and thickness, then enough mAs to produce and suitably detailed image.
Remember in CR and DR mAs does NOT control image density, (Kv does have a limited effect on contrast) contrast and image blackness are primarily controlled by the LUT in the software...
