Hey Fredas, great job on this forum and from what I have (briefly) seen great response from the masses. The picture of Genie, Phil, Jerry and myself brought back MANY fond memories of my high school athletics. The funniest of which I will remember forever. My senior year, we were playing Commerce and I had talked the coach into letting me play left end. Doug Matthews had sprung a play around the right end and there was one defender between him and the goal post. I came across field at (about) 100 mph. and dove through the air to hit this guy and it knocked us both about 6 yards onto " our " sideline. Jack Beggs (who seemingly was always on our sideline) ran over to me as I was lying on my back making sure everything was still working, grabbed my facemask, pulled my face to his and said " great block Floyd, that's one for me now get back out there and get one for you !!! Then, just casually walked off. I'll never forget that. |
