I believe the overhaul of the website is complete. Thanks for bearing with me. As of today (3-13-2008) there are 668 pages, and we have a new feature!! I have installed a search engine, and it worked when I tried it, so I hope it works for everyone.

Re: CardinKids.com

Thanks, Tom. You were there when the idea of this site was hatched. I have tried to make sure everything on this site is honestly obtained, correctly identified and spelled right. I've given credit to every contributor and appreciate additions/corrections. Remember when we went to school and if it wasn't spelled correctly, it was counted wrong? What happened to that?
You can't imagine how many times I've thought about pulling the plug on this thing. I've been a photojournalist, researcher, author, and genealogist for years. My mother in law, my daughter and my wife are all DARs and have held National Offices. Even old Blanche became a DAR. Can you imagine that? I am a SAR, and an organizing president of the Miami chapter. I actually know what I'm doing part of the time. For the last 20+ years, we've been making our living printing/publishing/selling books, restoring pictures, and other genealogical/historical projects.
When pictures I took with my own camera show up unapproved on a DVD or printed in someone else's book for sale, I have to wonder why I'm sharing it instead of selling it. I don't even call it historical or genealogical, but with correct spelling, it comes closer than some.
Then, I hear from someone how great they think the site is, or someone sends me something new, and I know, then, why I keep trying to make it bigger and better.

Re: CardinKids.com

Fredas...... CardinKids is really a nice website. Obviously, you do your homework and have the cooperation of your contributors. It is rare to find a site that so carefully cites sources and does the research necessary to provide accurate information.

Navigating your site is easy and makes a lot of sense, not to mention tht great search engine. Your photos are wonderful and it is so perfect that you and the other "CardinKids" do your best to attempt to identify people in the. Way to go!!

Other area websites could take a lesson from CardinKids.com. I look forward to each visit I make to the site.

Re: CardinKids.com

I think you have done a great job with the site.

The measure is always the appreciation of and the return visits.

As always, thanks.

Ed
