Carlins
This woman is looking for Dennis or David, I think. Can anyone help her out? She left her address in the Guest Book. THE CARLIN HARDWARE STORE [I THINK ON MAIN]WAS OWNED BY MY SISTER AND BROTHER-IN-LAW,MYRL AND CATHERINE CARLIN.I`M NOT CERTAIN WHAT YEAR IT CLOSED,BUT WAS THERE FOR YEARS.I BELIEVE MYRL DIED IN THE 50`S. THEY HAD TWO ADOPTED SONS I NEVER MET. IF THEY SEE THIS MAYBE THEY WILL CONTACT ME? I`D LIKE THAT. I`M LOOKING FOR A PICTURE OF THEM TO SEND BUT NOT CERTAIN IF I WILL FIND IT,IT`S BEEN SO LONG.I AM DELIGHTED WITH THIS SITE AND THE OTHERS I HAVE FOUND RECENTLY.THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK.BERNICE Any help will be appreciated. fredas |

Carlin hardware was on Connell Avenue between the Pastime Pool hall and the Brass Rail. I will check for a photo of the store. I recall that one Christmas, they had a hugh Gilbert erector set in the window. Thanks for the memory. I had not thought of the hardware store for years. |

In the 'not cardin' section. There is a photo from 2nd street looking South. On the East side of the street, the store with the zenith sign is the Carlin hardware store. e |

I am pretty sure Dennis lives toward Wyandotte. He is usually at the All School Reunion,(which is next Saturday) so if I see him there I will tell him to look on CardinKids and get ahold of you. Susie |

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYBODY,YOU HAVE BEEN A BIG HELP AND I AM HAPPY TO TELL YOU I HAVE RECEIVED THE NICEST LETTER FROM A LADY IN TEXAS THAT WAS NEIGHBORS OF THE CARLINS AND REMEMBERS THEM WELL.SHE GAVE ME A PRECIOUS MEMORY OF MY SISTER THAT I WILL TREASURE.
