Message:   Forgive me for observing this but there seem to be a couple of extreme years in their (I note these are for "winter" only) which suggests that something odd was occurring.

So what was it I wonder? And why is it alwasy more convenient to simply give numbers rather than interpretation. (Other then the obvious reason that people will then make up their own reasons for the numbers based on any strong hints about what they should be thinking.)

Did anyone see the Derren Brown TV program a few weeks ago when he outlined how (he claimed) he had influenced people to think during the performance?

It's always good to get reminders about how manipulation and propaganda work.

Mind you one has to assume that the BBC, when interviewing the chap at the Thames Barrier, were also aware of the figures and therefore determined how to make Huhne look as silly as possible.

Which is interesting.
