Sorry about that. My father was a heavy smoker. He died at 89 of ... a stroke. His doctor said that apart from the usual nicotine deposits and such his lungs were healthy. On the other hand, I had a cousin who was a health nut. Never smoked, never drank (alcohol) exercised regularly, watched his weight, blood pressure, the works. He became a vegetarian after 40. He died at 65 of ... lung cancer. And it was not second hand smoke, because he avoided that like the plague. He convinced his wife to quit smoking when they were just married by threatening her with divorce.  |
