NRDC stands for Natural Resources Defense Council. From what I recall, it's an environmental organisation set up about 1970 by a bunch of lawyers and law students. It consists mainly of environmental lawyers and some supporting scientists. I believe they've played a major role in the lack of development of new oilfields and a shortage of oil refineries in the USA. |
