J,
You are correct about my geographic location. Despite that drawback the pepper plants seem to be doing quite well so far as green growth is concerned.
I have a small utility room attached to the house that has rigid plastic roof and the ability to catch the sun all day round. Effectively a greenhouse - it gets very warm. Silly place to have the freezer really, though in winter it keeps chill enough in the absence of heating. (Other than the freezer and a washing machine when in use ...)
It will be interesting to see how the pepper plants develop. I assume they have been selected for suitability for indoor growing in the UK. They certainly seem to be doing well in the sun we have seen in the last few days. Prior to that things were slow with fairly constant cloud cover.
I think the chives will be trashed in about a week if no activity is forthcoming. They were supposed to germinate in 2 to 3 weeks. So far it must be about 8 weeks since I opened the pack.
Obviously my fingers are not green enough.
