Hello Grant,
Funny thing about visiting the Space Center - an Ex-Pat friend of the family who lives in Sarasota had a friend over from the UK. We all went to the Visitor's Center and viewed a bunch of the tours and shows. Boy those shows had a lot of RAH-RAH Hooray for our workers propaganda in them and I swear I worked harder for a couple of months after that!
Miami, the cesspool of Florida! Good thing you were staying in Ft Lauderdale. I'm not much for sailing/boating but driving the A1A down the intracoastal is pleasant. Airboats are pretty fun though- they sure get you out to see the gators.
Florida varies from fairly rural to fairly cosmopolitan. Alot of the neighborhood varience is due to "zoning" that governs what can be built where.
Universal has some nice stuff. There's a good Hitchcock show. 'Bout killed myself on The Hulk roller coaster- was green around the gills for several hours after the ride - there goes my career as a fighter pilot!
Hubby and I often chuckle at the one-sided image of America that seems to persist outside of the place. Everyone seems to think of Americans as loud and obnoxious New Yorkers and yeah, that's one type of American, but by no means is it the only type.
How much soil are the chilis in now? That would determine when to transplant. I can give you an estimate if you can give me an approximation of the soil volume.
I wonder if John minds this chitty chat?
