Fusilier Andrew Grundy Died 1st May 1992

You were always the class clown, and you always made us smile. All of us (your friends), were so proud when you signed up for the army. I saw you on your last visit home, and we were going to meet up for a few drinks the next time you were on leave. You were so happy and so proud of what you had become and achieved. You had grown into a man. I wish I had known that was going to be the last time I was going to see you! Every year on your birthday and the anniversary of your death, I have a shot of vodka and I always tell you how much we all loved you. I hope you are up there with your brother, looking down on everyone and that you realise how special you were. You are sorely missed Andrew and you will never be forgotten. x My thoughts are with your family, and with your brothers who also joined up.
Andrew

Its right to be proud of Andrew.
Andrew was a good soldier: professional, trustworthy, cheeky and fun, and great for morale when it got tough.
He died because he stuck to his post in the face of extreme danger. His death was a tragic loss for A Company, 2RRF.
He and his good friend Michael Beswick will always be remembered. They did not die in vain - their memory is a motivation to continue the fight for lasting peace.
May God bless and comfort all the family and his friends.
