Thanks Seb,
I think what you meant to say was, why should we impose democracy on a nation which has never experienced it before, and possibly, that we should accept that there are valid alternatives to western democracy.
Since this is not really a political forum, I shall leave that to others to ponder. But I think that the general opinion is that we invaded Iraq in order to further our influence in the middle east (and help halt the expansion of Islam), and to gain more control over oil.
What do others think?
