Why do you want to become a Piper? What part of Piping are you talking about? - Piping Designer? - Piping Material Engineer? - Pipe Stress Engineer? - Project Lead Piping Engineer ? - Piping Department Manager? With your stated education you seem qualified to be a Mechanical Equipment Engineer. Why don't you do that for a few years and then move into Project Management? Of course, with your stated education you could discuss (with the Manager of Piping) a move into the Piping Department as an entry level Piping Material Engineer or a Pipe Stress Engineer. For both of these you will still undergo additional training. As for becoming a Piping Designer you will need many years of very specific piping designer training along with experiance and mentoring before you will be considered a "Piper." For more on Piping Designer Training see the posting about "Piping Designer Training" just below this. |
