Piping Designer Position in Santa Ana, CA
PIPING DESIGNER SUMMARY Under direction of Project Engineer and Lead Mechanical Designer, performs piping designs and layouts in support of skid mounted and field routed piping. Requires strong leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Have effective working relations with all disciplines, peers, clients, and management. Must have experience in piping design and piping systems, equipment orientation, arrangement and function. Extensive knowledge in dealing with pipes stress and thermal expansion and design. Complete understanding of pipe codes, piping components, materials of construction, valve selection, pressure ratings, pipe sizing and pipe support. Knowledge of AutoCAD, and isometric drawing software and associated peripheral equipment to create piping arrangement drawings, process flow and P&ID’s required. DUTIES ·Create mechanical equipment layouts, piping layouts, P&I diagrams, assembly and fabrication drawings. ·Perform tasks requiring dimensioning and tolerancing. ·Communicate with project team, suppliers, and customers as required to complete design tasks. REQUIREMENTS ·Possess a working knowledge of AutoCAD software. ·Computer literate in Microsoft Office® spreadsheets and word processing and data management software. ·Knowledge of ANSI/ASME Code Standards B31.1 and B31.3. ·Minimum 7 years experience.
