What’s the meaning of “fit up” in piping construction?

Its a coloquial term most commonly used when installing new pipework or pre-fabricated sections of steel for the oil and gas industry in the North East of Scotland, the normal use of it is when having asked the person at the first connecting end (invariably an aberdonian) "how far" the reply being "Anither fit up..!"

.... and there was me thinkin' it was, a London term, when, after being "sent down" for a crime you didn't commit, you discover someone else was responsible, and conspired to make it appear that you were the guilty one. (Also see "Framed" in US)

ASTM A106 is a pipe classification for seamless low carbon steel pipe for medium temperature applications. It has a ASME B.31 yield stress of 20,000 psi valid up to a temp of 400ºF.
