Re: Brinklow FC Under 14s 2007/08

4-1 win!
We were missing, Ben and Peter today, Luke wasn't right, woody had blisters and i think most of the lads were still in holiday mode.
This wasn't a easy game, but we could of put the game to bed in the first half if we had taken our chances.
Special mention to Az for his penalty................................................miss!
We still played the better football and overall had control in the right areas, phil and scott in the centre of defence, woody right back and stuart who i felt played one of his best games of the season as left back.
Henry, az and luke in midfield with Chris, glenn and Dave/owen up front.
Luke scored a real bullet strike, Glen scored, Owen went on a maisy run and scored and i think dave scored, i can't remember, to busy running the line like a pro!!!
Owen didn't seem up for it today , took his goal well but i would have liked to have seen him run his socks off and stake his claim on his position in the side, i Know he has got it in him!!!
Just wish we made more from our corners and attacked the ball both in their box and ours when defending them, wot a difference that would make.
Oh yes how could i forget Adam in goal, massive kicks, good toe pokes for goal kicks, no fear when diving at the feet of attacking players and acted as sweeper for his occasionally rocky defence.
Should Adam have taken the penalty?..............NAH!
We need to work on our corners, both defending them and attacking them, it would be nice if everyone came along to training for a change!!!!!!
Keep up the winning streak lads and step up to the blue, Chapelfield colts away next week!

1-0 Win against at7!
We beat them 8-0 earlier in the season but that was when the boys were on a roll and scoring for fun!
They have had a break for far to long now with the bad weather and this team needs to play for the confidence to remain on a high and after this performance they need to knuckle down heads down and sprint to the finish line to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
I couldn't make this game but by all accounts (az) we were rubbish, especially the second half!
When i got there with 10minutes to go Glenn was off the field and peter and dave hadn't even got on, sorry dave but if we were that rubbish and unfit then especially away from home when the boys have travelled there they need to play even if its not for that long!
Its a good job the ref was a woman this week because i thought dave was going to start necking her when she blew the final whistle and put us out of our misery!
In the end a win is a win and we will take 3 points thankyou very much!
Friendly against norton lindsey at home this week who are a quality side, lets hope we give them a good game and they don't play us off the park and knock our already faltering confidence!!!!

Re: Brinklow FC Under 14s 2007/08

2-0 Loss- friendly against Norton Lindsey.
They only had 9 players in the first half with the wind, but it seemed like we had less players, thank god they didn't have all 11.
We went in 1-0 down at half time but this half we had the wind.
Another of their players turned up in the 2nd half but they were still a man short.
We caused them a little more trouble but they always looked the most likely to score.
Az and Luke worked their sox off throughout, their manager even congratulating az on his performance after the game.
Another lack lusta performance, not a good sign for the big games ahead, if we keep this attitude up then i think we will be lucky to stay in the top2 and win promotion.
Oh, adam played well in goal, again...... he always does....i just don't want the lads to rely on adam kicking them out of trouble, clearing the ball out of the danger area when they should be doing it or relying on adam keeping us in the game without putting the effort in themselves.
I know its just a game of football but this season we are top of the table with everything to prove and play for.....
get it sorted lads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Brinklow FC Under 14s 2007/08

3-1 loss!
The start of our demise has begun.
Balsall and berkswell are a pretty solid side but nothing to us on our day, but are those dayz over, the performance was disfunctional, james signed up last week and went in goal, adam played out, running havoc through their players but just not finding that final pass to get a clear oppurtunity.
We were missing, henry, peter and stuart today, but we just couldn't seem to hit the target today.
Their goal seemed blessed in the second half, 1-0 down at half time they went down to 10 men at half time when one of their players had to go so we had the advantage!!! or did we.
They sat back blocking everything we had to throw at them, not many clear cut chances but on the break they hit us and soon went 2-0 up, we pulled one back trough ben, adam missed a penalty, then they broke away and scored another.
A truely depressing display, that i sadly predicted, come on boys prove me wrong and get back to your winning ways, every year after christmas performances drop..... don't you ever want to get out of this league????????????????????

2-1 loss against coundon cockerels.
I wasn't at the game today, we went 1 down but managed to come back with a goal, i just arrived when they got a penalty and took the lead and that is how it stayed.
We have played so well the majority of this season but now we seem to be lacking !
The way things are going i think we do well to stay in he top 3!
Only if we win all our remaining games can we manage promotion now!!!
5 games left 15 points is a must and that includes a return match against coundon cockerels!

Re: Brinklow FC Under 14s 2007/08

7-2 win against pro santos.
On a wet and windy day on a pitch that looked as though it had seen better days with a big slope to one end and only half of the pitch seemed to of been grazed on by cattle as opposed to being mowed.
We were missing phil, adam and henry today.
We took the lead and another soon followed, they scored then we scored again, they snuck another and at half time we went in at 3-2 up.
We were playing up hill in the first half but created loads of chances so in the second half we had the slope and the wind, and the flood gates soon opened.
We could have scored more creating at least 15 clear cut chances but 7-2 we will settle for.
There was still a few heads down on a day which we totally dominated, i can't understand it?
4 games left 12 points to be won, come on lads, over the season you deserve a top 2 finish so push on and bring back the passing and moving that you have proved you can do, we saw signs of it again today, Ben bagging 5 , glenn 1 and arron says he scored but i am not so sure if he did or not.
I want to see all of you coming home like arron did today plastered in mud, how do we get the kit clean, az played some quality balls through for ben and glenn to run on to, james pulled off some quality saves and read the game well coming out to protect his goal.
I thought daves performance today was the best i had seen so far when he came on and everyone else stood up and battled well, i can't mention them all individually as i will be here all night.
Lets use this game as a confidence booster and push onwards and upwards!!!

Re: Brinklow FC Under 14s 2007/08

7-1 WIN!
Bottom of the league without a win all season, just the team we need to play before the last few big games.
Only 3 games left, take all 9 points and 2nd place should be ours!!!!!!!
Another hat-trick from ben today with 1 from adam, 1 from chris , 1 from glenn and 1 from arron, well thats what az told me as i couldn't make it today!
Keep it up boys, lets get back into the swing of it, we were without, phil, henry and luke today.

Re: Brinklow FC Under 14s 2007/08

Lost 4-2 against rugby town boys.
I think the season finished about a month ago we have always thrashed this side, i just don't know what has got into the lads.
No heart or hunger for most of them.
We finished 3rd again missing out on promotion, i think the league have given us the option of going up, i think we should, prove ourselves in a tougher league, we are never going to get any better in this league!
Lets see who is up for it and take all the good things out of the first half of the season, i will just hang on to the memories of beating the boat 4-3, wot a game.
Bring on the brinklow tournament, lets see if we can actually beat caludon youth!!!!!!!!
