Under 12s Cup Mount Nod 1 : 1 Brinklow (AET) Brinklow win on Penalties 3 : 2 What a roller-coaster of a cup tie.Brinklow came out of the blocks like a steam train completely dominating the entire first half possession and created chance after chance and playing some great football all round the park,so it was unbelievable that we went into half time 0-0. Second half and it was Mount Nod's turn to have the lion's share of possession and they punished us with a well worked wide move and cross emphatically finished. Brinklow were rocked by this change round and took a little while to respond, but respond they did with lots of hard work and desire which has been lacking a little of late, but still no reward for the teams hard work until in the 59th minute Bradley Hall ghosted into the box swivelled and struck a sweet shot into the far corner.1-1 and into extra time. Extra time was a bit of a non event with niether side willing to push too many players forward so into penalties. Up stepped our Birthday Boy and keeper Big Jacko to take the headlines.Four saves and scored what was the winner to take us through.Today was not just a one man show because every player played their hearts out at a venue we always struggle at,and applause goes to everyone of them. Well Done and back to winning ways,Come on you Yellow and Blues!!! |

Sorry I haven't put anything on this forum until now but we are having technical problems with Broadband in the village. Quite fantastic lads, as I said before the game we can win this cup and I mean it. I agree with everything Martin says and I would like to thank the 3 guys who were brave enough to step up and take a penalty but had to deal with upset of missing. I thought you were all very mature and I am proud of you. Well done Brad on your first goal there will be more to come. I apologise for mentioning him but I am very proud of our keeper to make 4 super saves from the penalties was a fantastic effort. He tells me it was the best birthday he has ever had !!! Thanks to all of the players for your hard work and to our fantastic supporters, you were brilliant.

Brinklow 1 Chapelfields 1 Josh Well done lads you all battled very hard for this draw and I thought with two minutes to go we were going to win. Josh took his goal superbly and I thought everyone of you deserved a man of the match award. Brilliant

Brinklow 1 CTK Rovers 3 Tommy Lovegrove Lads I am so proud of you all because you played really well. Everyone put 150% effort into their game and although we lost an early lead we looked very solid. After going 2 -1 down we know that we scored a perfectly good goal only for the assistant referee to raise his flag to cancel it out. You deserved the draw, if not the win, and if opposition teams have to do this sort of thing to make sure they beat us then that shows what a tough team we are to beat. Well done to you all. Thanks to Gary who ref'ed really well in difficult circumstances and he had no choice but to go with the linesman given that he was not level. So thank again Gary. Rich

Brinklow 1 : 3 Christ the King Rovers A fantastic game of football between two very evenly matched sides only tarnished by an assistant referee, who made a very strange decision. We as a team were superb today and continue to improve far more than I could have imagined. Well Done all,Keep it up,Come on you Yellow and Blues!!! |

Brinklow 1 Firefighters 1 Connor Well boys to be honest we have played better over the past few weeks but at least we got a point. We will have to work hard on being more ruthless in the final third of the pitch because we will need more of a cutting edge. Nobody means to play badly and sometimes it just happens. Keep your heads up and we will bounce back. |

Brinklow 1 : 1 Firefighters Another unbeaten game for us to build from today, although not the performance I felt we as a team should have put in today. We looked a little lethargic in the warm-up and it certainly carried on into the game when we were all at sea when the visitors scored. We upped our game a little whilst trailing, and our skipper Connor scored a fabulous goal with an unstoppable strike to even the scoreline. The match was played in a fantastic spirit by both sides, but if I'm honest,it was a point gained today rather than two lost as we as a side just didn't get started. A pleasure as always to host Firefighters, who just like ourselves are a credit to junior football and a credit to the league in which we compete. Well Done to both teams for a very sporting match. |

Cup Quarter Final Leamington Hibs 2 Brinklow 3 Tom Lovegrove hat-trick What a result in terrible conditions. I was delighted with our attitude and how we competed around the park. Tom Lovegrove scored 3 superb goals, all from outside the box !! well done Tommo. All of you deserve great credit for a really good performance. I know we let them get 2 goals back towards the end but that's just a little loss of concentration. Many thanks to the players, officials and supporters of Leamington Hibs who were very sporting after the game even though they had lost, they were a credit to their club. Well done everyone

Cup Semi Final Rugby Town Juniors 2 Brinklow 1 (AET) Tom Ridding Lads I am so proud of you and so gutted that we just didn't quite manage the shock result. Extra time just proved too much and Rugby town benefitted from being able to make sustitutions. With the score level at 0 -0 after normal time I was hoping we might hang on for penalties but when Ridders blasted home for us to lead I thought here we go this is our year. But never mind, I was delighted with our determination and spirit you all put yourselves on the line for the Blue and Yellow shirt. Your deserve all the praise in the world. Rich |

Semi Final Rugby Town 2: 1 Brinklow AET WHAT A BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE MAGNIFICENT! We played with Heart, Desire, Hunger and Passion. Rugby Town are a great side in every department, but we matched them & if I'm honest, surprised them with our effort and committment. Every Yellow & Blue player gave their all & were in touching distance of the final, but fatigue & lack of players really cost us. I'm so proud of every player & so proud that Brinklow FC was out in force to support the boys. Thank you to all & thank you to all the boys for a fantastic effort Come on you Yellow & Blues!!! Brinklow 1 Rugby Town 4 Bradley Hall With only 11 fit players it was a tough ask to play the top of the league twice in 3 days. You battled away and tried your best and I have sympathy because the score line was a bit harsh. A great goal from Bradley was richly deserved. Thanks to all of you for your hard work. Rich

Brinklow 1 Mount Nod 4 C Malloy Boys despite this score I am very proud of you all. It was never going to be easy with only 10 men but you all gave it your best shot. All I can say it that you are a great bunch of lads and a pleasure to coach. As I said we could have put 5 or 6 men behind the ball and gone for a point but that was not going to be enough for us so we had to attack. I put my hands up to the fact that it didn't work. I hope that you will want to stay with us and keep together, well done. Rich. |
