CCFC vs Brinklow

Please forgive me all, however,I am certainly not going to allow tonights fixture go without blowing our clubs trumpet for once.Too many times over the years we haven't taken the opportunity to raise the profile of our club, but tonight I will.
As a long standing member of our club and Brinklow's
biggest fan, tonight was without question our greatest evening.

Coventry City u/8s vs Brinklow u/9s

Brinklow Football Club received it's biggest honour to date, being invited to play in the above fixture, and so pleasing it was to see so many Brinklow Supporters there to witness it.
How far we have come from the first junior training session when at 5.55pm on a Wednesday night we had no players turning up to 6.00pm when they were pouring in their droves through the spinney across the fields and being dropped off by the car load.
Has it all been worthwhile, you bet your life it has, when I saw Brinklow warming up and then to see the boys from the City Academy running out onto the pitch in their sky blue kit.I thought,do you know what,we've finally got there. We're on the map.
How proud I was to see the yellow and blue of Brinklow on the same pitch as the sky blues albeit at junior level was for me UNBELIEVABLE!!! THE STUFF DREAMS ARE MADE OF!!!
I was so envious of all of those boys in Brinklow shirts tonight, but boy did they do the club proud.Their behaviour was impeccable and their sportsmanship was a joy to behold. They truly carried the Brinklow banner aloft tonight.
The match itself was all about football development, and the enjoyment of football and I certainly enjoyed it so football was the winner.I have to say that I felt that our boys were confused at the eerie atmosphere created by a lack of shouting from the vast crowd, but I have to say it was a pleasure to witness/referee the game (which in it's self was an honour for me)in those quiet circumstances.
Thankyou to Coventry City for making my dream come true and thankyou to all of the boys who represented Brinklow for making me so proud.
Next week Man Utd away,I wish........
