Hey Family Band And Colorguard both! lol
Hey Guys/Females, Happy summer vacation! As Band Captain I want to ask everyone (including colorguard!) for a favor… I want to know exactly what you think our week points are and what ideas or suggestions you have for the next season. Because I feel as if we always start clicking really well a week before a major even like F.B.A, But this year I want to start clicking well 5 minutes ago! Also add what you would like in all of your officers and ECT. You may Contact me via e-mail or aim or just reply on here. By the way I am very proud of you all and last years performances,time to really kick some butt am i right or am i right? BUT for now be safe and have a great summer vacation guys!  Thanks Family, Livingston McLeod  P.S: Even Though you may not be classified as a leader doesn’t mean u can't act like one, and to me everyone in this band is a leader and can always give suggestions or opinions as long as its at the right time and not disrespectfully.

Dun Dun Dun. Laugh Out Loud. Anyways, I'm going to reply. ^_^ I honestly think that our week points are that people screw around too much, I mean honestly yeah I do screw around from time to time, but honestly I'm always screwing around with the routine or something that pertains to band/guard. I also think that there is too much disrespect going on. People honestly need to respect the officers and they most definitely need to respect Mr.Rutherford. I know that there was so much talking and so much screwing around. When you are told not to talk you honestly need to not talk. People need to listen to their officers, section leaders, drum majors or someone who is trying to help them. Don't get snotty and be like "Your not in my section you can't tell me what to do!" Well guess what it doesn't matter, if someone is trying to help you or telling you to stop talking then you need to listen. dis respectfulness and listening to what you are told are honestly in my opinion two of the big things that happened and need to change. We are "One band, One sound.", that means that we all need to work together to look or sound amazing! I know that we are capable of it. And all of the incoming freshman need to know that you need to WANT to be in the band/guard. You need to have the heart and soul and you have to LOVE making music or twirling a flag. You can't just be in it to be in it because you think that its an easy "A" Because honestly, its not as easy as people think it is. It is a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifices. Yeah, I know I kinda went off topic from what Livi was asking but I figured id say what I need to say so everyone reads it. Because honestly there was so much crap going on this year, and it needs to be cut down this year.I'm going to make sure [even though I am not an officer] that there isn't as much crap going on as there was this year. If you have a problem with someone then you need to talk to that person and not spread rumors about them or some crap. And if we honestly need to have meetings to talk about things I'm sure that Jorj, Blakey and Livi wont have a problem making that happen. Because I know that this year they don't wanna deal with crap. We are the Gulf High School Marching Buccaneer Band & Color Guard and we need to act like it. I love you guys/girls and I hope you all enjoy your summer! Can't wait to see you all at Band Camp! Sorr you all had to hear me rant about things! lol |

I think that the problem was always that the officers treated everyone else in the band like pieces of meat, instead of fellow band mates. |

I agree with you also. There was also TOO MUCH Favoritism in color guard and it needs to stop.Learn to treat other people that arent your stupid friends the same. Show some respect to all of the other girls instead of treating them like crap and always putting them in the back.Maybe they dont like being in the back,maybe they would like to be treated like they were someone instead of being treated like crap. Maybe thats what should be brought into band this year. NO STUPID FAVORTISIM JESUS BLOODY CHRIST! Everyone is equal. So start treating them like they are equal or your gonna have lazy people like one person who will remain unnamed. Kthnx |

well i agree with all three of u actually. There are a few officers who dont show favortism and treat everyone equally but there are many who do show favortism. since im not in guard i dont really know whats going on there but if what you are saying is true then it does need to stop. BTW Livi i am impressed. When Big R announced you as band captain i was like oh Lord this is not going to be good but i must say i already think you are doing a pretty good job. Keep up the good work. Anyway i also must say its not all the officers fault everyone else also needs to stop all the fooling around and do what you are suppose to. then the officers wouldnt be yelling, Big R would probably really happy and everything would get done much faster. that is just my opinion i said what i wanted to say so ill catch you all later at band camp. |
