HELLO & PHOTO'S
Hello to all my former shipmates.I was onboard 65-68 for the 1st two WESTPAC'S. I'm VERY interested in hearing from anyone that remembers me. I came aboard to R-Div. Was Forced in M-div. due to shortage of bodies in Aft. Fire Rm.. The DesDiv. Dr. found somone in 1st Div. to swap places with me. Boy, was I glad to get FRESH AIR!! LOL I was then TDY to Pearl Harbor in spring of 68, untill my discharge in Sept.68. Some of my friends while onboard were (R-Div.)Denny Shriver, Joe Schmit(both from Ohio). In 1st Div. Jerry Nokland was from Michigan as was I. I've been in touch over the years with Jerry. I just located Denny in Akron, OH a few months ago. Denny was a great help with info. that helped getting my VA. Disabilty. Many Thanks Denny!! I remember others but have trouble putting Names with Faces. I'm not to active with many groups(I don't much Care for Large Groups). In the early 80's I was on the Board of Directors for the 1st VVA. Chapter in Atlanta, Ga.. I'm now with "B" Co. Viet Nam Brotherhood( Small Great Group) here in Ft.Myers, FL. I've been here for about 9 year's now. Most of my activities now ether enclude the Viet Nam Brotherhood & My "07" Harley. Well, enought about me. I'm posting also, because I'm looking for copies of any ACTION pic's during OP. SEA DRAGON. All I have is the Pic's from the cruise book's. By the way, I'm the guy with the HOT Blonde in Sidney, Aus.. And another with a girl in Subic Bay (MOM I MET THE MOST WONDERFUL GIRL!). LOL And the 8"-10" of the "Benny Sweat" being shelled by the NVA guns in "67" I think. If anyone has any other pic's of this type, I'd be VERY GREATFUL for copies. HI Chuck I noticed your e-mail Wolverine, where did you live in Michigan? Were you a Lopper, Troll or Upper? I came from the small Upper town of Powers, If you look at Upper Michigan map, Locate Iron Mt. follow US2 east also locate Escanaba on US 41 go south where US2 and US41 connect that is the small town of Powers. On my way home after being discharged I made it as far as Green Bay Wisconsin. There was only 100 miles to go, but I stopped hear and this is where I live. |

Dave, I grew up in Saginaw. But, call Houghton Lake home. Riding my Harley to DC. for Rolling Thunder the end of May from here in Ft.Myers, Fl.. Then on to Michigan from there. PS. MICHIGAN--38 FLORIDA--35 GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!! |
