Re: ET - Div

Hello All,
My name is Milton Hodges. I live near Montgomery, Alabama now but am originally from Memphis, TN. I served on the Stoddert from April 71 until November 72(if I remember correctly). I was in OE division (OE01) and a communications ET (ETN). I believe the person you are asking about is Donald Bowdenski. He was an ETN2. His full name is Richard Thomas Donald Bowdenski. I remember this because he was the 1st person I'd met with 4 names! Also, because he had his initials, RTDB, stenciled on every thing. "Bowdenski" was my supervisor on the TACAN system. I also worked with him and ETN2 (later ET1) Dennis Crunkilton ("Crunk") in Radio Central and Aux radio. Amoung other systems, we kept (or tryed to keep) the KY-8, KG-7 & KG-37 stuff operating. Technology has sure come a long way since then. Even though I was a communications ET, I also worked with ETR2 J.O. Brown on the SPS-40 Radar system and with ETR2 Bill Bozarth on the SPS-10 Radar system. Bozarth and I arrived on the Stoddert at the same time, being as white as sheets. The weekend after we arrived we all attended an OE division party on a little Island nearby and Bozarth & I got so sunburned we had to be hospilitalized for a few days. Not a great way to start a tour in Hawaii. Other ET's I remember are ET1 Jim Weeks, Dan Jurkowski, Wayne Sletten, Bernie & (?wife's name) Judge, Mike & Libby (? last name), Pete Chilson. May have forgotten someone. I remember many others, but too numerous to list. Also many memories, some bad, most great. Have photos and other memorabilia somewhere. Will try to locate and post. I haven't thought much about these things for the last 35 years but now I'm putting together a short history of my life for my 2 sons and my grandchildren (3 grandsons so far). Went looking on google for something on the Stoddert and found this site. I'd be glad to hear directly from anyone via the e-mail address provided. Thanks for the site!
