LOOKING FOR "PLANK OWNERS"
JUST FOUND THIS SITE!! ARE THERE ANY PLANK OWNERS OUT THERE?? HANK FLOWERS, LOYD HOFFMISTER, I READ ABOUT THE SMOOSE. I WAS ON BOARD THE PRE-COMMISSIONING CREW DOWN IN SANDIEGO, THEN ON THE SHIP IN BREMERTON, WASHINGTON FOR THE COMMISSIONING, THEN ON TO HAWAII,I WAS TRANSFERED OFF IN DEC.65,WENT TO THE BRYCE CANYON,IN LONG BEACH,CA. THEN DISCHARGED IN MARCH,66. I LIVE IN TONAWANDA,NY. RETIRED IN APRIL 06, JUST PURCHASED A PLACE IN FLORIDA, TO SPEND THE WINTER!!!!! I WAS A MM2 WHEN I LEFT "BIG BEN" |

Jim, Welcome to the site. Hope you can make one of the reunions? Have several plank owners that are regulars: Myself, Bill Moore, Mac McCandless, Joe Patz, Johnnie Richards, Harvey Rowe, Ron Zorn.. There were 11 Plank owners at the last reunion including Lloyd Hoffmeister. Our CO's Meginnes and Kint have also attended several of the reunions. I was the first enlisted guy to show up in Seattle, Dec 1963. Was an ET2 left as 1st class. Retired USN as LDO LT in 1981. Enjoy your retirement! Hope to see you at a reunion. Frank |

Last time on board was FEB.91, MY WIFE AND I WENT TO HAWAII,FOR OUR 25TH. ANNIVERSERY. WE WILL TRY TO MAKE THE REUNION, WE SHOULD BE HEADING TO FL. BY THEN,AND COULD STOP ON THE WAY!!! WILL LOOK FORWORD TO IT. |

Jim, My wife and I met in Hawaii while I was on the Stoddert. Took a trip back for our 30th Anniversary, courtesy of our 4 children. Just went over 41. Hope you can make the reunion. Frank |

FRANK, I'M MARRIED 43YRS. IN SEPT. MET MY WIFE WHEN I WENT BACK HOME ON LEAVE, THEN SHE CAME TO HAWAII AND WE GOT MARRIED, BEST MOVE I EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T THINK WE WILL BE GOING THIS YR. WE JUST GOT A PLACE IN FL.TO SPEND THE WINTER, BUT WE ARE NOT GOING TO LEAVE HERE TILL THE 15TH. OF OCT. THE YOUNGEST GRAND SONS "B"DAY, SO WE WILL LEAVE AFTER THAT! IT SHOULD BE A NICE DRIVE JIM G. |

Hi Jim, Mike Lomenick here. I was on board in precom at SD also, came on as BT3 and left BT2 in '66, don't think I can make the reunion this year,but hope to for the next one, any one seeing my email may contact me. I live in Pahrump, NV in the desert. |

WAS AT SD FOR PRECOM, AND BREMERTON FOR COMMISSIONING. WENT ABOARD AS SA AND LEFT SM2 ON BOARD 64 - 67. |
