Message:		Subject: Step 1. Powerless :- All the things you have written about(Taken directly or not)from the Big Book are true for the alcoholic,but none of it is what Powerless actually is !!! (Opinion ??? You might be a bit premature with this statement !!!) Powerless over Alcohol is not WHAT HAPPENS to me as a result of being Powerless. Nor is it what I DO becourse I’m Powerless over Alcohol. Nor is it the Consequences of BEING Powerless over Alcohol. Infact I am not hearing ANYBODY give a definition of what Powerless actually means. EVERYBODY says what they DO because they are Powerless over alcohol. EVERYBODY tells of the consequences of BEING Powerless over alcohol. EVERYBODY gives the RESULTS of what happened to them becourse they are Powerless over alcohol. But NOBODY is explaining what it means and actually is to be Powerless over alcohol. I am going to take a risk here and stray from the Party Line. What I am about to say HAS to be rejected by you,otherwise what you have already said and written will be difficult to maintain and keep up. Heres what POWERLESS actually means,OK??? GODLESS……Dah !!! HP = God….or….HP = HisHer Program/Fellowship……… Both HP’s are a power greater than self,and I don’t have either one until I……..??? HIT BOTTOM = Hurting Inside Totally Burnt Out Turn To Our Master……(Hitting Bottom is the Process that brings us back to the God we have abandoned.)Which the disease of Alcoholism got me to do.I did it,but the disease made me do it,cos its become my master…. Alcoholism had gotten me to abandon GOD,so that it became the power in my life.I needed to turn back in desperation usually,and ask for help (HitBottom) and get guided to AA……. I thank AA for my God,and God for AA. Hitting Bottom aint even mentioned in the Program of AA,yet in the 12x12 in the very first step it is Insisted upon.(Bill learnt Too) There is ONE who has ALL Power,that ONE is God,may you find Him now .Well if I got to find Him,it means I aint got Him.I can’t say I got a God in my life(Where alcohol is concerned)AND I’m Powerless. By the same rules if I am Powerless and God is the Power then it means I don’t have God in my life as far as alcohol is concerned. The equation:- Powerless = No Power, God = Power,therefore Powerless = Godless. Everything else written or explained is as a result of this being the case. The Malady is a result of this disease,NOT a part of it. It is a Spiritual SOLUTION, not a SPIRITUAL problem.(How we doing with that Opinion stuff so Far??? Thought so !!! ) I have just scratched the surface,but am available, and willing to Pass On anything that might be helpful to anybody along these lines.
