I was wondering how other people handle eating with non-foodie friends.

I feel like my SO and I are always critiquing food when we go out to eat, and I think it seems odd to some people.

Like, we'll be trying to pick out flavors and ingredients, and commit it to memory (and sometimes even maybe jot down a note or two) and I feel weird sometimes being critical, especially if someone else at the table has ordered the same thing, and their reaction is "Oh, it's good".

How do other people handle this type of situation? I don't have a blog of my own, but with the notes some of you guys take, you must have the same problems, right?
