Blast from the past!!

Hello all,
Just been having a good look through your website and its great to see so many names i recognise, as well as seeing the club doing so well.

Not sure if any of you remember me but i used to play at the club more than 10 years ago. I am now living in newcastle upon tyne and am still playing. I am playing for a club called South Northumberland Bulls (www.southnorth.co.uk). Playing in the 2nd team there and also captaining the midweek 20 over team. Still slogging and trying to convince people i can bowl!!!

Anyway just wanted to say hello to you all and its great to see loads of you who i played junior and senior cricket with are still at the club and being successful.

Hope your all well,
Oggy

Ps; does Will still ask you all to bowl for him at every opportunity !!

Sian Ogden!

As reported James Ogden is still alive!, the last we heard of the mighty Ogden he was playing Hockey for Wales, and as predicted he was always better than those Slay boys, especially that little **** Tom.
James Ogden to this day has the record for the biggest Six over the clubhouse, but more importantly had the fittest sister!, so Oggy nice to hear that your doing well, but were the hell is Sian?.

Re: Blast from the past!!

Ha Ha,
would sky sports news happen to be the alter ego of Roberto by any chance?

I knew that cheeky brazilian always had a soft spot for the junior ogden!! Unfortunately i have to report that she is well and truly shacked up with her boyfriend in deepest cheshire, well Macclesfield! She is doing very well and i will pass on all your best wishes.

Have now retired playing hockey for Wales after the 2002 commonwealth games but am still playing as player coach for Tynemouth in newcastle.

On a cricketing note i am still very proud of my big 6 and would love the chance to come back and try to whack a few more!! The team i play for try to organise a tour during the summer for a weekend, we get a spare weekend off when the first team play the Durham Academy. How do you think the club would be fixed for a sunday social game next summer, and ideally if we could oragnise another local game for the saturday as well. Let me know anyone if this is possible!

Be good to hear from any club visitors here to this forum to find out what your all up to.

Cheers
Oggy

Sian!

Hello mate, no idea who Sky Sports is, roberto is a footballing friend of the family so i'll pass on regards. definetly could play a sunday fixture but saturday is league time so could be struggling for that, unless a bank holiday weekend, could be ideal!.
Stay in touch oggy, by the way gutted about sian.

Re: Blast from the past!!

Hello mate, good to hear from you. I will get back to you re organising us getting down there nearer the time , im sure we will be able to sort something out.

Sorry about Sian but i will let her know you say hello.

Pass on my regards to everyone, as and when you bump into them. Is Alex still playing at the club, and has your Dad retired gracefully or is he still wielding the willow occassionally?

Re: Blast from the past!!

Bloody hell, this thread seems to be turning into horspathians Re-united!

A quick hello to you Ogden - Gary deCaires here. My cricket career seems to have perished I'm afraid. Haven't played properly since I was about 19 years old. Sadly,I am more nearer 19 stone this days! I did briefly make a cameo appearance about 2 years ago at the Sheperds match - Robbie will tell you about the shot of the day I hit for a well deserved boundry!

Dad is still playing cricket for Horspath despite being 96 years of age! I still support QPR for my troubles and go through the fortnightly agony of watching them thanks to my season ticket! Am now living with my fiancee Natalie in Essex.

Robbie - are you coming to watch the mighty R's this season or are you playing football with Roberto still?
