Bookmaker Goes Bust!
Bookmaker Stanley Racing Ltd have today filed for bankruptcy after being 'cleaned out' by members of Horspath Cricket Club at yesterday's Newbury meeting. "I've never seen anything like it" said their spokesman Dan 'the hat' Smedley, "if ever there was evidence of race fixing, then this is it, there should be an investigation into this mob". Horspath player Gareth Hamilton was heard to tell a member of the betting ring "sod work Monday, I'm off to the track!" However suggestions made by Stanley Racing that the Horspath crew had taken the 'clothes off our their backs' were strenuously denied by Robbie & Alex Eason. "We bought these trousers in Debenhams before the first race, we've got receipts and everything". |
