So Sad! It all started and ended in DC...Washington that is. Let Senator Sessions & Senator Shelby know how you feel about it.
While you are at it let them know how you feel about the Minimum Wage Issue. Sessions voted NO...Shelby did NOT vote.

Read "Looking to the future" in the Daily Home. There is another Job Fair going on today as I write.

Just dang-near makes me cry...and it's even WORSE that the Daily Home employs apparent junior high drops like Chris Norwood. Here's a copy of my email to him this morning:

Pretty dang sad to see such a glaring error in a headline, Sir. I was born and raised "Avondale," and it's "Avondale MILLS"
--- no apostrophe.
Sorry to be short about it, but I was also an English teacher for 35 years. (And I know "illiterate" when I see it.)

Jimmy I fully understand your frustration...I cringe when I hear things like "So Fun" and all the other Youth Speak, not to mention the illiterates who get paid big big bucks to tell us what's happening in the world and we hear things like, "The Baltimore Oreos" Every night I sit there and scream at the TV when they screw things up not just in their speaking but in the identifying titles they throw up on the screen as well. And have you ever pushed the mute button and tried to figure out what's going on by reading the titling being done for the deaf...God help them...if in fact they care.

They don't care. The new attitude of "writers" is "If you know what I mean, that's good enough!"

...and certainly we DO know what they mean, so, in a way, they make their point. HOWEVER, will those equally or even MORE illiterate ones on down the line from THEM know what is being said?

Not sure at all about that...and not sure that it will even matter. And THAT is sad!

Bad journalism is caused by all those rocks the astronauts took off the moon.
