I thought it was for old geezers, I laughed, the first time I saw one. but now we own one and it is a Godsend. I'm talking about a toilet bowl extension. Oner bought one from the drug store for 35 dollers, I installed it in about 5 minutes and life is much kinder to us. We both have bad knees or old age and it was a chore to get on or off without a lot of pain, but with the extension we can sit and get up like a pro, and without any pain. Like I said, Don't knock it till you try ir. Qw plan to install one in our other bathroom here and also at the camp. MVB ES
We thought about that, E.S., but decided on new, higher terlits, instead. In addition to being a few inches higher, the new extended ones only use about a gallon and a half of water and work VERY well. See, our problem is the &*^%$%^ septic tank. When we first moved here over twenty years ago, we were having to pay somebody to pump the thing every six months or so. Since I changed the sink and shower drains to just go outside onto or into the ground and installed the "low-flush" terlits, we NEVER have to have the thing pumped anymore. Rid-X sure helps, too.
Nice topic today, huh? Reckon we'll go from **** to Shinola next!
Ed has one of those highrises and man does he love it. He has to have help getting off of the low ones but comes off of that one like a spring chicken. They sure help when you reach our age. Our grandson was needing to go to the bathroom and the down stairs one was in use, I told him to just go to the one upstairs. His reply was, the books are better downstairs. It's the only library we have in the house....Trish & Ed
Jimmy, I think you misunderstood me, We bought a 6 inch extension that goes over our toilet seat that makes it easier to get on and off, not a complete comode. It's just like it was, no different in the flushing. At the camp we had the same trouble with flushing and cleaning the cess pool until they put in city sewage. I can relate to your troubles. Hope this clears the air(no pun intended) MVB ES
ps Thanks Billy for the sack full of old westerns, Trish is gonna Fed-Ex them to me.Your Bud
Jimmy In the place of rid x you can use buttermilk. That's what was recomended by a friend of mine.By the way my library consist of building and fishing.
