Re: Dale Layton, Gary Maddox, 'Woot' Gentry, Harold Brooks

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN By: Little Jimmy Frost. What a great poem.

Both Robert and Jimmy have written some of my favorites. It's sad to see great poets and great works of poetry pushed to the wayside. I wish there could be a revival of that 'lost' art.

Kind of like the early sixties and the quick rush of FOLK MUSIC. To me that was some of the best music ever written and sung. Way, way ahead of what Country Music has become.

I have a hard time listening to the Country "Flavor of the Month" anymore.

Sorry to get off on a tangent. I'll bet Horace and Don wouldn't waste their time working at radio stations and being DJs if they had to play some of the stuff we hear today...Sad

Re: Dale Layton, Gary Maddox, 'Woot' Gentry, Harold Brooks

The problem,as I see it, songs today have no lyrics,no melody. I don't understand what word they keep repeating. They have mastered the pelvis thrust, covered their faces with large hats, ripped their jeans and shoot off cherry bombs when the audience tends to go to sleep.

Folks ask me,"Do you miss radio?"

My answer: Yes ,I do,I hope it comes back sometime in the future!!
