I saw Prince Fielder play high school ball in Melbourne, Florida. It was easy to see he was on his way to the "Bigs".

His father, Cecil Fielder, was my big disappointment. While Prince's father had a great big league career, he tried to move in on Prince's 'fame' by putting Prince down to the local newspapers.

Prince distanced himself from his father - and rightfully so. He's always been a real gentleman & a real "Gentle" Man.

I talked to his high school coach and he said Prince was a "Yessir" - "Nossir" & a "YessMa'am" and a "No Ma'am" kind of kid which carried over in his professional life.

So, I'm not surprised - and yet, still pleased that this would touch you in that way.

Good deeds are their own reward - but it's neat to see them displayed and honored by the likes of yourself. I feel the way you do...
