Just wanted to reply and add my two cents worth.....I always liked Lathan's songs when he sang them...guess it's more personal and I'm his number one fan...He has a heart bigger than he is........Love you nephew....Aunt Trish

Re: Weogufka Songwriter's Festival info on Television

Trish & Ed,
If you read this you'll know we moved to Apalachicola, Florida. It's about 260 miles from Sylacauga. Kathy's lung problem is better here because of the salt air. We are surrounded by water and it's about ten minutes to the Gulf of Mexico @ St. George's Island.

The town is real small - 2300 - but it's full of Bed & Breakfasts and Inns. There are more restaurants than places to shop. We have a tourist season and that's what keeps this economy here alive.

Hud and Connie will probably move down here soon. Hud has been offered several jobs here and Oystering is what he wants to do when he gets here. There's a lot of fishing boats and Shrimp Boats he can work on also.

Anyway, I could talk about this place forever. It's like Sylacauga in the 50s.

We'll stay in touch...

Love,

Your Nephew

Re: Weogufka Songwriter's Festival info on Television

Lathan, how about sending one my way. I hav'nt heard anything about a
football reunion, I wish somebody would get one up. You realize that was
42 years ago when we broke the team up. That was in 1970 when private
schools started around here. I was the oldest one on the team, that was
part of the good old days. We were lucky we did'nt get hurt real bad, they
were some big boys.
We would like to come down if when we get to feeling better. We have been
sick most of the summer. Frances had a stroke back in April and I had
diarrhea for 4 weeks and lost down to 143 lbs. finaly went to the Dr.
he did a upper and lower scope. He diagnosis me with Celiac Disease
so I can't eat anything that has flour, wheat or oaks in it. I have to eat
gluten free and it is expensive and it's not good. It's the same stuff
that Lois has. Dr. said it ran in a family. So if we get well enough we
may drive down one weekend. See Ya'll Soon.

Re: Weogufka Songwriter's Festival info on Television

Didn't know you'd been sick. Hope Francis is getting better - you too. I know about being on 'bland' diets - Yuk!
I've been in touch with Randall Hill. He's trying to put it together. I gave him your email address.

Let us know if you need anything - we'll come up there. Kathy's had some bad sickness with her lungs. We feel this move will be good for her. She was going to a specialist but she's more stubborn than I am. Actually, she's tired of all the stuff they put her through.

This place seems to be helping. She gets a good diet of salt air. We're surrounded by water and we're about eight minutes from the Gulf of Mexico (St. George's Island). This place is like going back to 1950. They still have bands in the park and stuff like that. We went to a Mullet Fry today and it was all-you-can-eat for $6.00 (for both of us) and that included two drinks...We miss everyone but will be closer now by 350 miles
