Re: Turkeys

I know that this was a beautiful sight. I will tell him and, yes, his Turkey hunting is over for he only deer hunts now. But, he is in to this big time when he is able.

I hope that you made a picture and, if so, please send me one on email so I can show Ray.

Have a good day.

Re: Turkeys

I did make one. but they had started into the woods by time i got the camera. Dont know how good it will be, This is the most we have ever had. We have had 11 or twelve before. I will send you one of those, We had them last year that came when they were little on until they were grown. I would throw bird seed on the driveway by the garage and they would come and eat with us standing right there. They have even come under to garage with us standing there. These didn't start comeing until they were larger and not tame at all.

Re: Turkeys

It's probably a good thing they aren't tame --- their non-fear of humans is probably what got the others. That's why I hate to see pictures of the people in the "rich" neighborhoods here petting "their" deer. The next thing you know, they've multiplied so much the uppercrusters are calling the authorities to shoot them or get rid of them.

Re: Turkeys

Tell Ray that very few things excite me more than the love call of the wild turkey on a beautiful spring morning. The last few years I was leaving the gun at home.
Would have enjoyed exchanging turkey stories with him. I have hunted AL, VA, TX, NY, MS and TN. The Eastern Turkey is more beautiful than the larger Western Turkey.
Other turkey hunters, Ray Duke and Brasher. The very best one and taught me all I know was my brother, O. B.. Some of you may have remember him. The only caller he ever used was a small green leaf that he placed in his mouth and made it do any sound that a hen turkey could make.

Hope all is well with you two.
