"Salt has been identified as the cause of high blood pressure, strokes, heart attacks and more than 200,000 deaths a year."
Ignoring the "Salt has been identified as the cause of..." bit, which is wonderful in itself, has anyone seen a higher death count than this for salt? Seems a bit rich (& salty?), even for the salt scaremongers.
(Just had a quick check and the CASH website claims that some 35,000 people a year die from eating too much salt - some way off 200,000 - some way off reality too, but that's another story...).
If anyone remembers the "Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin" comedy program a few years ago (starring Leonard Rossiter) that featured a shop called GROT selling rubbish products which became a cult - or so the plot went ...
... I have a variation on the idea.
I would like to set up a chain of stores selling only very salty food, 'Frankenstein' GM foods and Chelsea Tractors. Plus any other objects or products that are politically uncorrect at this time. Maybe one could have a mobile smoking room that you could take with you when shopping for example.
Any suggestions as to what the product range should include will be most welcome.
