EU Petitions -

For those who would prefer us not to have the Lisbon Treaty ratified in whatever form it is there are two petitions running currently:

If only these did some good but since politicians seem determined not to follow the democratic principle that they are supposed to represent the people and thus take no notice of what the people want, it is questionable what value petitions have these days, least of all the Science Museum petition where they seem to have realised they need to make a progressive modification to the votes rather than a third world style fix.... the votes are again shown, but this time with a smaller margin of count me outs than they originally decided on.

I wonder, is any legal claim that since the Brun's party was returned with a referendum included in their manifesto that the failure to hold a referendum means the Brun's signature is not legally binding and that a referendum is a legal necessity?
