Re: A Grave Error

A grave 2/3 of a kilometer deep !, that is one enthusiastic gravedigger , does highlight the unthinking nature of the modern churnalist

Re: A Grave Error

Interestingly, I read once of a teacher who said that, when he held his index fingers apart and asked pupils to judge the distance by eye, the brighter ones replied in inches.
The "evil metric system" is partially to blame because, under the SI convention, such lengths can only be expressed in millimetres or metres. Since Yoof is incapable of dealing with decimal fractions, that means a long string of numbers which is more difficult to appreciate at a glance, hence errors of three orders of magnitude are increasingly common. Not least in drug poisonings.

Re: A Grave Error

Some wit has suggested that the archaeologists who found Richards body are now excavating the nearby Tescos' car park looking for his horse.
Chances are some one has eaten it by now though.
