hi uno. the wheels are alloy, there are wheel refurbishment companies that will bring them back to as new,
magesium wheels were made in the late 50's/60's. and special care has to be taken to clean them,chemical reaction could if i remember right, could cause them to catch fire. which country are you in?

So when you say alloy is that aluminium, alu and mag mix or mag and something?
Most wheel refurb co's don't touch magnesium because of porosity / volatility etc
I have a feeling that they are a mag and something mix which means they shouldn't be sand blasted or dipping and cannot be powder coated.

they are aluminium, my coupe wheels were stripped and repainted ok,so can be done ok. mag wheels are volitale to do,like you say.
