127 crankcase breather

Does anybody know...

On my 1050 engine the crankcase breather has one pipe running back to the air filter...

On the 1300 engine it has another pipe running in to the head...

Reason?

I've just fitted a 1300 and its a little smokey.Had the head off and away to change the valve stem seals/decoke/skim and valves ground and lapped in.Just want to eliminate the oil breather before I start looking at the piston rings.

Cheers.

Re: 127 crankcase breather

If you remove this pipe you will find a wire mesh filter within it. this sometimes gets clogged. The 1300 engine has a slightly different re-circurculatory system to the 1050.

within the pipe to the carb there is a similar wire mesh filter.
