I Have service light flashing, from oil change and an emission system warning (original diagnostic from garage saying its air flow sensor). Can anyone recommend software and a connector to cancel these lights. Also where do I plug in the connector. Have seen a few devices on web, that vary in price from £8.00 to over £100. I am unsure about what is a realistic price for the best but most economical tool?
Take a look at MultiECUScan http://www.multiecuscan.net. The reason I say you are in look is that if you look at the Supported Vehicles List http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx and scroll down to Sedici 1.9 Multijet 8V entry your car is supported by the FREE version of the software. All you will then need is the hardware and a laptop with Windows.
From the Supported Vehicles list you will see that hardware wise all you need is a KKL or ELM adapter and the correct cables. KKL interfaces are much cheaper than ELM because they do no support CAN Bus but as your vehicle does not have CAN Bus you can get away with just a KKL interface with cables OR a switchable KKL interface.
If you have other Fiat / other cars which have CAN Bus based modules then ELM would be a better choice.
For the hardware I would strongly suggest you get this from one of the authorised distributers http://www.multiecuscan.net/Distributors.aspx. The reason I say this is that many people have had problems with cheap Chinese/Far East ELM devices. You will not get these issues if you go the authorised dealer route.
