I would like to get some advice from you all please - In the early summer I swapped insurance brokers for the cars. I asked for agreed valuations on two 132s and the Argenta Volumex. After submitting photos and the forms three times I received a letter yesterday to tell me that the agreed valuation on the Argenta Volumex could not be agreed due to '...the limited availability of equivalent vehicles currently for sale...'. Bearing in mind my car is the only one ever made with right hand drive and in the UK that's not much of a surprise! Rang the broker today and they are insisting that I ask a member of the Institute of Automotive Engineers and Assessors to value the car. They won't accept a Club valuation. Has anyone else had this sort of problem and can anyone suggest a valuer who would have the first idea about valuing a 27 year old, one off, FIAT. Thanks
An assessor will have even less idea unless they are Italian car specialists, so it's a waste of time!
We now have 2 members having trouble with Adrian Flux agreed values, so just be careful if you consider a classic policy with them.
From personal experience I recommend trying Peter James. I know Mike is now arranging his insurance with them (also cheaper) so it will be interesting to hear if there are any issues with the agreed value in due course.
