u14's 2011/12

Please post any information for the u14's in this thread.

Club: Brinklow FC

Caludon 3 Brinklow 2

Although we lost, couldnt of asked for more, played football throughout the game and should of had 6 or 8 goals by half time, went in 2 - 1 down. Two wind assisted corners in the second half gave Caludon the points, but the game should of been buried long before that.

Good start to the season, shame about the result

Shooting practice this Friday!

Hopefully we will have some new signings available this weekend for the Nursing Cup, plus the prodigal son returns, a fighting wingman for Joe

I have a feeling we are going to have some good fun this year

Tales of two cup ties

Two weeks update today, apologies missed last weeks game due to family commitments in Ireland.

Last week - Nursing cup away against Weddington
Brinklow running out 7 nil winners,
An emphatic performance and victory.

This week - League cup at home against Sphinx blue, a league team. With Ash making some fine saves in the second half we drew level and almost nicked in normal time. 1 - 1 after normal time, we tired and eventually lost 4 - 1 in extra time. Good dogged performance and we certainly push Sphinx all the way.

League fixtures resumes next week

Brinklow 1 - Santos 2

A one sided game today, according to our new stato we had 19 goal attempts but only converted 1.

Santos, battled back into the game had 4 or 5 attempts on goal and scored twice.

The ref commented on what good football we played just need to convert our chances.

Training on Friday 6pm Barr lane

Nursing Cup Athletic 1 - Brinklow 6

An afternoon kick off today, seems to suit us.
With warm autumnal sun in our faces we put Athletic to the sword within minutes. A good all round performance against a team higher than us in the league.

Still a slight worry our strike rate is still four / five attempts to get one in the net, but we can work on that. Certainly was better than the last two weeks.

Stirling performance by adam, three goals plus set up two more

Well done boys, week off next week

League Brinklow 4 - Triumph 1

At last, our first league win. Although we made hard work of it, good to get our first win.

Goals scored by

Adam, top goal scorer
Conah,
Joe
and Alex.

Cov Jag at home next week, the revel

Re: League Brinklow 5 - Cov jag 0

Becoming a bit of a habit this winning lark, three wins on the bounce, 1 cup, two league. First half performance as Steve (snake hips, according bolty) hawthornewaite father of Tom commented was the best footballing performance for at least three years. Some great passing football finished off by some stunning goals.

Cov Jag no mugs in this league, with one player whom was one of their best players in the a league seems to have decided to ply his trade in the B league.

Half time 5 nil, didnt want the half to end

Second half was more of a saturday night out in Holbrooks in the mid eighties! i went to Mod disco's at the pilot with my older sister.

Back to football
We didnt concede and could of got a couple more.

Back to earth with a bump next sunday, Quarter finals of the Bedworth Nursing cup, a stinker of a draw, Stockingford Cougars!

Goal scorers

Richie 2, first a peach
Adam 1
Ben 1
Joe 1

Well done boys

Nursing cup qtrs brinklow 3 Stockingford Cougars

A great team performance today against a high flying a league team. All the boys did there job superbly, the only difference was the quality of the finishing.

Some notably performances, Richie chased everything and linked well with Alex up front.
Adam's first half performance tracking back was excellent with Toby mopping up any long balls.

Well done all

Back to league duties next week, away to Westside

Brinklow 5 - Copsewood 4

A real game of football this morning, not sure the opposition saw it that way, Copsewood being second in the league, and us well, enough said.

The were lots of bests today, firstly, the best kick off we have ever done. The second best of the day was Ben's goal, our fourth.

We were three nil up within five minutes of the start, Copsewood were all over the place. They clawed their way back into the game. We conceded on there first attempt at goal. 3-1 at half time.

Second half, a penalty early on to Copsewood plus a third for them brought them level. We got our shape back however Copeswood went ahead with their best of the day, 4 - 3. We started playing the ball on the ground again, with a swift move from Midfield, Connor m winning the ball, Richard laid it right to Ben who ran down the flank, beat the left back and fired a rocket passed the keeper. 4 - 4. We were werent finished, Alex worked tirelessly and won a penalty not long after Ben's goal and Big H buried the penalty. I dont think Peter Cech would have wanted to get it the way of that.

5 - 4 the game had seven minutes left and we played it out perfectly, with the odd substitution from me which was always the furthest player away!

Hopefully we can build on this result and kick start our league season

Well done boys

Stratford 3 Brinklow 1

Gutted, I think we edged it, certainly on chances.
drew level twice and looked to be running out to a draw a slip with three minutes left allow Stratford to take all the points.

Still great game of football and the boys looked great in the Brinklow Beanie hats.

No training this week, but game on Sunday, away at Alvis

Re: Cov Jag 1 Brinklow 2

Blustery conditions today. First half against the wind we missed a couple of good chances and failed to clear once, the home side capitalised one nil.

It took us 10 mins to clear our heads and a couple of changes but by half time we started competing again.

Second half we laid seige on Cov Jags goal, missed a penalty, hit the bar twice, numerous of one on ones, just as we were starting to think it was not going to be Rich broke through, one on one, the goal saved the first attempt on for richie to coolie slot home the rebound.

Again we took the game to Cov jag searching for the winner, an over head kick from a corner by Toby, it was quite Pele in escape to victory but nevertheless still a good strike, straight into the top corner.

The game played out, with Cov Jag trying to break out of their half.

A good result today, second half, we dominated, need to work on our finishing still but showed good character to come from one nil down.

See you all at training on friday

Goals
Richie
Toby

Brinklow 2 - Leamington Brakes 2

Still outraged at what happened in the last three minutes of this game. What was a game fading out to be a home win nearly was turned on its head.

First half was a tight affair with Brinklow going ahead half way through only to be pegged back five minutes after scoring.

We scored our second right on the stroke of half time.

We dominated second half with keeping Brakes to a couple of long range shots.

A great team performance today, we need to continue to put these performances in

With four people booked, including myself you would of thought we were on a night out at Tamango's in the mid eighties, but i dont remember a bad tackle from either side.

Still, two games in a row now unbeaten, would of been nice to have 6 points out of 6, but 4 out of 6 is not bad.

Three weeks off now, 2 stand downs and 1 half term week

Re: Brinklow 6 Bedworth 0

Ooh you fighter!
Feeling the effects of my birthday celebrations last night in Warwick, I think the chicken didnt agree with me! I was last to arrive in Bedworth, clearly not concentrating when I got dressed, I was dressed for summer and it certainly wasnt summer, it was snowing/sleeting when I got out of the car!

The boys put on a perfect performance today, Ashley only touched the ball three times, I dont think they had a shot. An amazing display of football on a very difficult surface.

Goals came from

2 from Alex, 2 from Toby and 2 from Adam

To be honest, we have been playing our best football for years just struggling to find the net.

Well done all

Re: Brinklow 4 athletic 2

Gosh, what a difference a week makes with the weather
No effects of dodgy chicken this Sunday either.. Although the first twenty mins I think a couple of our lads looked like they were suffering

Going two nil down, we fought our way back with a goal each side of half time set up the second half for pulsating game.

Further goals from Ben and Joe ensured three points for us

A well done for athletic linesman, a very honest guy

Goals today, Ben, Joe and Conah (2)

Club: Brinklow

Re: Brinklow 2 alvis1

Missed todays game, but I was receiving text updates whilst I was in London

Scorers Connor M and Adam

Well done to boys, see you all on Friday

Club: Brinklow

Re: Brinklow 1 alvis 0

The reverse fixture of last weeks game.
On a very small pitch, didnt suit our style of football. First half we dominated and were unlucky not to take the lead.
Second half was a tighter affair. We scored from a stunning move, Ben before taking one for the team on the right laid the ball inside to Richie who made a stunning diagonal ball to Conah who slotted home at the near post. We should of made it two late on as Alvis pressed for a late equaliser.

Last couple of mins was a bit frantic but we held out to see the three points

Well done boys, summer training venue this friday

Scorer Conah L

Re: Brinklow 5 Athletic 1

3rd time we have played Athletic this season. We struggled to get going in the first half but took the lead late on, one nil at half time.

Five minutes into the second half we found form and with a succession of goals the game was over.

A stunning move and strike for our third goal came from a clearance from Connor M, another superb diagonal ball from Richie and Conah L took the strike on the half volley.

Athletic gained a consulation goal right on the final whistle.

Goals

Adam
Toby
Conah
Richard
Lee ( who also had one disallowed for off side)

Enjoy the easter break

Re: Brinklow 3 Caludon 0

Back in action this weekend, 2 games, one Friday and one today, a 4 - 3 reverse against Copsewood on Friday, a very competitive game, unlucky not to get at least a point.

Today was a very pleasing performance, against an inform side pushing for a third place in the league. We had two goals disallowed and should of put another 2 or 3 away.

Goals from Adam (top goal scorer) in the first half.
Joe half way through the second.
Ashley made an important save with 5 mins left to ensure 2 nil was maintained. Toby made it 3 with 2 mins left and killed off an potential comebacks

Back on my anger managment course tomorrow!

3 games this week,

Wednesday away at Leamington
Friday at home against Westside
Sunday at away against CRC

PS, really enjoying this season, will be sad when its finished

Re: Brinklow 3 CRC 2

After the mid week blues, against Leamington where we gave ourselves too much to do again we started slowly and allowed CRC to take a two nil lead.

Bizarrely we had to move pitch at half time, onto an intermediate size pitch with tiny goals!

The comeback commenced, Conah Langham with a drogba esq goal brought the score to 2 - 1, A goal mouth scramble came out to the edge of the area and cooly slotted in again by Conah.

With circa 7 mins left, we broke up the centre, played out wide to big C who responded to Richie's call to 'box it'. On the volley richie despatched the ball back across the goal to claim all three points.
Well deserved by Richie who led the comeback from the front.

Well done to Connor M for being emergency goalie today.

Dads vs Lads this Friday, meet for 6.30 kick off at 7pm, venue Barr lane

Last league game on Sunday - 27th May

Re: Brinklow 1 westside 1

Our last league game of the season
A very hot morning at the revel and the football was good too
We dominated the first 20 mins but could find the net
Went to sleep for he next ten min and allowed westside to go into the break one up
Second half we took the game to westside but found their keeper in awesome form
Plus hit the woodwork three times
The equaliser came late on when a good move again was saved by the keeper but Richie was on hand to knock in the equaliser

Unfortunate not to take all three points but Ashley made a couple of fine save too

Well done to all the boys, enjoy the tournaments

Thanks
Declan

Somerset Tour - Rhode Wanderers Tournament

Our second time to this tournament. This year fielding one team in the tournament. The tournament was abit smaller than last year, but the football was certainly of a higher standard. A team from Ashton Gate, supsciously looking like a Bristol City team were dominant throughout. In our last league game we surrended to a two nil reverse, but put up a stirling performance and almost nicked a late consolation goal.

We saved our best game till last in the 3rd place play off, laying seige to the hosts goal to eventually put two past a tiring keeper late on.

A good day had by all, how did I get sun burnt with in the wind and rain.

PS Fred, wasnt the same without your antics, I am sure you will come next year
