Shettelston relations

My mothers sister Agnes Young stayed in Shettleston Rd near the Co-op and she had three children Margaret, Jessie & David who was in the navy.
Margaret married a Tommy Dickie.
Any information of them would be appreciated

Re: Shettelston relations

James,
Can't find anyone who knows anything of your relations. I have sent you a more detailed Email and look forward to your reply.

Sorry I did not receive your email.

Since then I remember that Agnes Young's married name was McLaughlin
Thanks for taking the time to check for me

Re: Re: Shettelston relations

Hi Tony
I'm hoping that this info may assist you
I can see in my mind the close they lived in but not the number and they were on the left side of Shettelston Rd just passed their close their seems to be an Iron shutter which was pulled across either the front of a shop or cinema and stayed upstairs 1 up someplace between Ferman St & Vesalius. The CO-Op was just up the road on the other side.
Son David joined the Navy and I'm sure he was on the HMS Vangaurd that would be about 1947approx
Regards James

James,

Where you describe is probably between Darlieth Street and Kenmore Street. The iron gate you mention could have been at the Premier Picture House, known locally as the Buggy. It is now a Social Club called The Barn.
