Billy Lee Culberson

Sorry to say this but Billy passed away this morning (December 22nd) in Douglasville, Georgia. In recent years he has been fighting alzheimers. Was a football captain, along with Doug Layton, on one of Comer's early 50's football teams. A great brother and a very smart man. He was an Auburn graduate and worked for the Department of Defense at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida for 33 years. Been retired and living close to his children and grandchildren in Douglasville, Ga for several years with his wife and soul mate, Genie. Please keep his family in your prayers here at Christmas...Thx

Re: Billy Lee Culberson

Cubby, thank you for sharing with us and we wish peace for the family during this time.

For me,I'd like to think Billy Lee took hold of that rope and just swung over to the other side.

Re: Billy Lee Culberson

Chubby, our condolences to you and your family. Billy Lee was always a friendly gentle kind of guy. I know he will be missed by all of his family and friends. Horace

Re: Billy Lee Culberson

Very well put! Billy WAS the one that climbed the tree by the dye ditch and put that rope there for us to swing over the ditch...a great memory.

Re: Billy Lee Culberson

Chubby, I remember Billy Lee as one that rode a motor bike to school. Is that right?

Re: Billy Lee Culberson

He had one at one time, so he probably did.
