speed

hi everyone, the machine im running, which is a black lotus 2 machine is going way too fast, too fast for even outlines, the eikon dvice supply reads that its running as fast as 160 but no lower than say 145, eikon reccomend that liners should run at 120 and shaders 100 and around 5 either way on both. the fact that the black lotus has a 1 piece spring set means that i cant change the spings and ut thiner ones on, how do i get the machine to slow down?? its funny how its meant to be a 'fully adjustable tattoo machine , able to be tuned whilst running, it can but none of the adjustments which lie inside the ..lets say. 'prime' feild seem to make any sufficiant change to the speed its running at. i also took it to a shop near me who told me that it was too hard even to line with also, the machine is meant as a liner and shader and for £250 is quite exepensive, its adjustable spring tension screw and rear coil height are good ideas and compared to my last machine, a mickey bee new teleohone dial it sounds like a jag to a banged up old skoda but the saying if its not broke dont fix it comes to mind. i know lional your a machine builder and have most probably seen one(black lotus) and im not expecting to obtain all your knowlege (that eikon magazines got alot of that kinda stuff) but what are my options for slowing it right down, i run it a betwwen 5 and 6 volts to line and from 4.5 to 5.5 to shade. cheers ,, any thoughts at ths hour??
