Just a quick query, not sure if you will have any answers or not.
We have 2 computers, both on xp, networked via a router, and both have iTunes installed. (version 4.6 I think). Both computers have McAfee protection.
For some reason when we search update for itunes it does say we can update to version 6, however when we access the download page ( http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) there is no facility to download. This happens on both computers. I know its not a fault with the download site as I know someone else who has used it at the same time we tried. I have( I think) disabled firewall and pop up blockers and anything I can think of, but have had no luck. I would be grateful if you have any ideas as to why it might be. Thanks for your time. Gilly

I think the problem occurs when your internet security settings are set up too high.
To fix them just go into internet explorer then tools - internet options - security; change all 4 sections to "default level" (they become ghosted).
Check the advanced tab - select "restore defaults".

That should sort it out.
