GET RID of the link to the Google group. The people who use it are an embarrasment and give the wrong impression to any potential visitor to GLA. Would you want to actually meet oany of these contributors?????

I found the letter from the Police regarding spotters to be very interesting. It was obvious that the author had given an all encompassing explanation of what was and was not acceptable. Whether in the cold hard light of day this will work we shall have to see.

I am a former Strathclyde Police Officer and can certainly attest to the pressures brought upon law enforcement from sources not seen by the general public. This letter outlines at least if nothing else, an awareness that spotters are decent intelligent people who can be of assistance to law enforcement and not just a nuisance. I compliment both sides for procuring an awareness that the two sides can co-exist.

This however to the uninitiated, and there's always that fraternity in any walk of life, is not a blank cheque to taunt the line of acceptibility. We spotters must do our part if we want to nourish our hobby and keep ourselves, our airports, airport staff, flight crew and Police Officers safe.

I for one, have walked on both sides of the fence and fully comprehend the difficulties real or implied, that exist for everyone involved. This is a good step forward.

Very nice site, I initially learned to fly at glasgow flying club. Now fly from Cumbernauld, used to be good fun mixing in with 75s 76s and 77s....now I mix in with katanas, cessnas and pipers! :D
