Re: Today

The high here in the DC area was about 33 at least out side my dining room window on my LLBean Thermometer. Still have snow and ice on the ground from last Thursday's snow storm and expecting another tomorrow night. Gotta do a little shopping tomorrow and try again to get a slow leak in a tire fixed. My wife had oral surgery last week to remove the roots of a broken molar and prepare for an implant. The implant part didn't go well, she has to go back and try it again on this coming Friday. She still looks like I'm the guilty party...I hate to go out with her, afraid that someone will report me as a wife beater. Pray for her Friday afternoon. She says, "this time he is putting me to sleep, I'm not going through that again while I am awake."

Re: Re: Today

KNOW THE FEELING HORACE, ONER STUMBLED OVER A SIDEWALK IN MERIDIAN MISS. THAT THE ROOTS OF A TREE HAD PUSHED UP ABOUT 4 INS. SHE HIT ON HER LEFT JAW, BLACKING HER EYE,BUSTING HER LIPS, AND RUINING HER GLASSES. FOR A WEEK OR TWO, I GOT SOME MEAN LOOKS FROM STRANGERS. FROM THEN ON I ALWAYS HOLD HER HAND, NOW WE GET LOOKS LIKE WE'RE NEWLY WEDS, BUT WE DON'T MIND.
WISH SHE WAS HOLDING MY HAND WHEN I FELL. THIS ARM IS GIVING ME FITS. I'M LOADED UP ON CODINE NOW IS THE REASON I FEEL UP TO POSTING. YOUR HONEY WILL CERTAINLY BE IN OUR PRAYERS. MY DAUGHTER CAME BY AND PRAYED FOR MY ARM AND OTHER HURTS AND I THOUGHT IF ONLY HORACE WAS HERE, THIS PRAYER CIRCLE WOULD BE COMPLETE. I KNOW YOUR PRAYERS DON'T GO ANY HIGHER THAN THE OTHER PRAY'ERS ON THIS FORUM, BUT AS ONER SAID WHEN WE WERE GOING THROUGH THE VALLY, "YOU'VE FOUND A GEM IN HORACE, BETTER KEEP HIM"
KAREN,GLAD YOU'RE KEEPING THE BALL ROLLING ON THE FORUM. I KNOW LOTS OF US, EVEN THE ONE'S THAT DON'T POST, LIKE TO READ STUFF IF NOTHING BUT LATHAN AND JIMMY GOING AT IT.
I WAS PUTTING DOWN LAMINATED HARDWOOD STRIPS ON MY KITCHEN AND BATHROOM FLOORS WHEN I HAD MY ACCIDENT. IT WAS REALLY LOOKING GOOD TOO. WAS TRYING TO FINISH BEFORE CHRISTMAS BUT SO MUCH FOR THAT.
WISH ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS. MVB ES

Re: Today

Well, except for the gunshots, that could have ALL been me, Karen. Doc in a box yesterday did a flu test and said I don't officially have flu, but I sure FEEL as I do...or did, anyway. Feeling a lot better now, but, as you know, any illness sends a diabetic's blood sugars into the stratosphere. Oh, well, just a runofthemill virus or something. Chills and fever were bad news, though, for sure.

Oh, well, enough about me...let's talk about Lathan...

HAR! HAR! HAR!

Re: Re: Today

JIMMY, I WENT TO SURGERY TWICE BEFORE I GOT CUT ON, MY HEART RATE SHOT UP TO 150, THEY TOOK ME BACK TO RECOVERY AND CALLED ALL MY DR'S. THEY FINALLY GOT IT DOWN ENOUGH TO DO THE SURGERY, BUT IT STILL FLUTTERED ALL THROUGH SURGERY. GLAD TO HAVE THAT BEHIND ME. MVB ES

Re: Re: Re: Today

Looks like us ole folks are ate up with the ails. My place is ate up with aches and pains. It's not the flu but it still don't feel good. So far the big man hasn't taken it, I am holding my breathe. I went to B'ham to check on the younger son that was sick and brought it back with me. Hope it doesn't travel any farther. Glad to see ES back on the forum. You just can't keep a good man down and that is one good, good man even if we have the same mom and dad. I am so proud of him. He's made of good stuff. Keep warm and keep typing...............Trish

Re: Re: Re: Re: Today(Yesterday Now)

Re-hab with the many new friends that I have made..worked Benevolence case on Pelham Ave. in the village...next door to where my Uncle Joe lived(Bobby and Arnold)...the house in falling in to the point that it is dangerous...the Clifton house has been completly remodeled...looks better than ever...I do this service(Benevolence) with MVB Fred Wright... Marilyn is very quite when we are riding around the village...often, she just looks out the side window. Some people there show signs of Christmas. Really not an enjoyable day, but a good day...we do a lots of prayer riding when we are in the village.
But, tonight I will see BBC and SHS play roundball at Aggie High. Love to beat them in their own front yard.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Today(Yesterday Now)

Well, hope all ya'll have a better day than you're indicating. Guess I'm lucky. Think I'll drive up to Haleyville and visit Wendell, aunts and uncles.
Ed: I'm in Anniston often. I'll call you for directions to your house if you are feeling well. How far are you from Anniston?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Today(Yesterday Now)

What's "benevolence," Ivy. Just never heard of that, although I assume from the word you're there to help somebody. What exactly do you do?

Jimmy

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Today(Yesterday Now)

A basic need. Usually food, clothing or shelter. We never give them money. Fred and I will go and talk with the people. Even witness if we feel there is a need. We help many and we reject many. Mignon's people will pour out hearts and pockets to those that deserve help.
