Movie: THE GOSPEL OF JOHN

I see the price of the 3 disc DVD Gospel of John movie going down on ebay. This IMO is the best Bible movie of all time, straight from the actual Gospel of John, word for word, in a modern English translation. The deity of Christ comes out so forcefully in the presentation, as when He says words like: "Before Abraham was, I AM!"

John is the Gospel of the I AM's (which is a name of God, as with the burning bush story around Exodus 3. We have in John: "I am the bread of life"; "I am the way the truth, and, the life"; "I am the good shepherd"; "I am the light of the world"; "I am the door, by Me if any man enter in he shall be saved"; "I ma the resurrection and the life, He who believes in Me, though He were dead, yet he shall live."

And the Gospel of John is the gospel of the SIGNS (turning water into wine, walking on water, raising self from the dead, making the blind see -- about 8 signs, at least.

The movie is just great (though I would have given the Lord Jesus a manly hair cut, instead of long hair; and I would have had a more dramatic falling to the ground at His arrest by those who came to arrest him -- they fell to the ground when the Lord Identified Himself with the I AM statement:

18:1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where was a garden,
into which he entered, himself and his disciples. 2 Now Judas also, who betrayed him, knew the place; for Jesus
oft-times resorted there with his disciples. 3 Judas then, having received the band [of soldiers] and officers from the chief
priests and the Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons. 4 Jesus therefore, knowing all the things
that were coming upon him, went forth and says unto them, Whom are you* seeking?

5 They answered him, Jesus of
Nazareth. J

esus says unto them, I AM!

[the Greek has no word for "he" after the I AM]

And Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them. 6 When therefore he said unto them, I am [he], they went backward and fell to the ground.

7 Again therefore he asked them, Whom
are you* seeking? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. 8 Jesus answered, I told you* that I am [he]. If therefore you* are seeking me, let these go their way"

I still wait for someone to make movie showing the arrest as it really took place. There He was before His arrestors. He utters the name of God in identifying Himself: "I AM!" The arresters fall to the ground in terror, confronted with His deity. Truly He gave Himself up volutarily to pay for our sins; just as He volunatarily raised Himself up from the dead.
