This is the word translated "Hell," evidently equivalent to the Lake of Fire, which is the ultimate destiny of the damned in Revelelation. All but one of the verses which use Gehenna are found in the gospels; Gehenna occurs once in James.

Gehenna or the Lake of Fire is distinguished from Sheol = Hades = the temporary abode of the damned prior to the Great White Throne Judgment (see end of Revelation, chapters 19-end.
